Written in an accessible style by expert teachers, the VICscience Psychology Student Book Units 1 and 2 is design to help students engage and experience psychology through a biopsychological approach. ABOUT THE AUTHOR Meredith McKague is a cognitive psychologist in the Melbourne School of Psychological Sciences at The University of Melbourne where she coordinates first year psychology. She was the Chief Assessor for the VCE psychology exam between 2013 and 2020. Meredith conducts research and teaching in the areas of learning, memory and language. Helene van Iersel is an experienced Psychology teacher currently teaching VCE Psychology at CRC Sydenham. Helene is the lead author of the Nelson Psychology VCE Units 1 – 4 series. Andrea Blunden is currently teaching at Mansfield Secondary College, Victoria. Michael Diamond holds a Bachelor of Psychological Sciences (Honours), a Graduate Diploma in Psychology, and a Bachelor of Medical and Health Science and is a recipient of the Australian Psychological Society APS prize. He works at the intersection of psychology and data science and is interested in how technology can be applied to psychological research and practice. He also enjoys creating teaching content and training materials for psychology research methods and statistics Kate Hutchison completed her Science Degree majoring in Psychology at Melbourne University. It was her passion for the field and her love of learning that lead Kate to continue on to complete her Diploma of Education. She has over 10 years experience teaching both in Australia and overseas and has tought extensively across the year 10 to 12 Psychology curriculum. Kate is continually driven to find new and engaging ways for her students to learn and instilling a passion for the subject which has resulted in a number of her students continuing on to complete their own psychology careers. Leigh Park has been involved in psychology education for the past 30 years. He has presented at local, national and international conferences with a focus on the connection between psychology and the outdoors. He is passionate about involving students in their learning to discover more about themselves, to explore the world around them and to develop an empathy for others. Adam Scalon has worked as a VCE Psychology teacher for almost a decade in the state education system. He’s also worked in school leadership and student management. He’s extremely passionate about the subject and encourage students to think deeply about how the concepts of psychology shape their experiences. In his work as a secondary teacher, he’s supported students to achieve consistently high results, including perfect study scores, by focussing on writing quality short-answer responses. Claire Wallace is an experienced science teacher as well as exam assessor. She has a degree in psychology and biochemistry from the University of Tasmania. Claire’s favourite place is being in the classroom with her students, nurturing their interest in science with the belief that ‘science is more than a body of knowledge, it is a way of thinking’ (Carl Sagan). Adina Wolters B.A, B.Sc., Dip. Ed. (Psychology and Maths) is a current teacher of Psychology and Head of Psychology for Years 10 - 12 at Mount Scopus Memorial College. She has been teaching Psychology for 25 years with a particular passion for experiential learning. She is also a long-term presenter at Psychology teachers' conferences. Natasha Young is currently teaching at Eltham High School, Victoria. FEATURES
