This comprehension book is aimed at children who can read words with what are commonly called consonant sounds, single vowel sounds and easier double vowel sounds. The book has a low reading age and progresses in difficulty with generally uncomplicated sentences.
It introduces the concept of reading followed by answering questions on the text. Children are trained to answer questions with ‘yes’ or ‘no’ or with a word from the text.
The answer section is placed in the middle of the book so that it can be removed by a parent.
